Velory offers three different user roles — Employee, Purchase Manager, and Admin — each with different levels of access and permissions. Understanding the roles helps you set up your team the right way from the start.
In addition to these three roles, Velory also supports Service accounts.

🧭 In this guide:
Employee role
An employee has access to their own profile in Velory, where they can view assigned hardware, follow activities like product requests and placed orders, and keep track of the tools they need to do their job.
If your company has the employee experience add-on included in the billing plan (Standard and Pro plan) employees can also place their own orders directly in the Velory store.
💡 Employees can update their own personal information, such as email address and phone number, but cannot make changes to other settings or users.
Purchase Manager role
A Purchase Manager can be assigned to oversee an employee, team, or location. When designated as an attestation manager, product requests from the associated employees will be forwarded to you for approval. You can also make purchases on behalf of employees within your assigned team or location.
👉 There are no limitations on how many Purchase Managers can be added to an account, but ideally you only have a few — each assigned to a specific team or location.

Admin role
As an Admin in Velory, you have full control and access to all features in your account. There are no limitations on how many Admins can be added, but ideally you only have a few.
As an Admin, you can for example:
- Manage users
- Manage spaces
- Manage hardware and software
- Manage budgets
- Place orders, approve and deny requests
- Manage packages
- Handle company settings
- Adjust billing plan
💡 Keep in mind that the functionality available for your company can differ depending on your billing plan. To see your plan or make changes, go to Company Settings.
